The new federal rules officially add "gender identity" to the list of protections from sex-based discrimination. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex at any institution that receives federal funding (ABC News).

Last month, the Biden administration expanded the definition of sex to include claimed gender identities. Moms for Liberty joined the legion of states and groups suing the administration (Washington Examiner). 

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed an amended complaint along with a motion for a stay of agency action and a preliminary injunction in his lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s attempt to unlawfully remove protections for women in educational institutions under Title IX (Office of Ken Paxton).
